Person Responsible
The staff/child ratio's warning indicators have been updated.
The system checks to ensure there is at least one, ECE or Primary trained teacher with current teacher certification and a current First Aid certificate recorded as working in contact with children on the staff timesheet.
Where the orange warning appears within the ratio view screen, this indicates that for the time period/s highlighted there are no staff with current teacher certification recorded as working in contact with children on the staff timesheet. This also indicates that there are no staff recorded on the staff timesheet who can be considered Person Responsible.
"No teacher qualified to act as person responsible"
A pop up message will be visible when you hover over the (i) Note symbol,
The message reads:"Teachers using the teacher certification renewal grace period cannot act as Person Responsible".
This is a reminder for Managers to ensure that teachers recorded as Person Responsible meet other regulated requirements. Certificated teachers who have submitted their certification renewal documentation can continue to be counted as a certificated teacher for funding purposes for up to 3 months (know as the 3 month grace period)
This grace period applies for funding purposes only, it does not apply for regulation purposes, (Education Early Childhood Services Regulations 2008) This means that a teacher who does not have current certification can not be counted as Peson Responsible.
